Car Seat Test

Better with his blanket. Not crying for the past 25 min...
Here's a funny pic from a few days ago... just a little less stressful to view.

He does NOT fit!
He has to sit in it for an hour and a half to make sure his little airway doesn't close. His oxygen stats have to stay above 86. We are staring nervously at the monitor non-stop...Not that you'd want to bring him home if he can't even sit propped without his airway shutting...but still you just don't want your child to fail any test! And this am I let my hopes get up that he's well and coming home and now I am FREAKING. SO ANXIOUS. It's going to be a long day...
At 3 I take an infant CPR class. That should be the last thing before we leave.
Well, actually, the doc came in and said they need more labs because his second platelet count was a little low - and since he was exposed to parvo a while back they need to make sure it's not attacking his blood cells. I hope it comes back ok. Even if it doesn't they will let him go hoe, but he'll need more tests to see if it begins to raise on its own. If not he'll need a transfusion.
But hey, he's alive! And that's way easier still than the other way. I am not complaining. Just nervous!!!

He looks so tiny in that seat! And oh my goodness does he look like Caidgen in that last picture!!! A little mini-me for the big brother! Hope he passes his test okay and his bloodwork is all fine. Your kids are amazing themselves for how great they are doing. Caidgen cracks me up!

Caidgen is hilarious. I am sure Ami misses you very much. I can't believe how tiny Trey looks in his car seat. I will keep my fingers crossed that his bloodwork comes back okay. I bet you are looking foward to sleeping in your own bed and getting back into a routine, with three now. I told you before, if you can do 2 then 3's a piece of cake.

Tiny tiny tiny! That pic with Blue really helped me to realize. He is a precious little pumpkin seed! Good luck with going home, but again, so much better to be safe in the hospital than in a total panic at home, right?

He looks so tiny. Calah was so tiny and her belt did not tighten enough for my liking when we first brought her home and that was at 7 pounds. I cannot imagine how he fits in at 4 pounds. I am praying he makes it through his car seat test.

Your daughter must be thrilled at the thought of having her mommy and her new baby brother home for her birthday tomorrow! I'm praying that he'll handle the car ride home beautifully and that you will find all is well.

His car seat makes him look even tinier than he does in pictures. We've been keeping up on everything on your blog and are so glad that you are getting to take your sweet baby boy home. Your family deserves it. Congrats and good luck!

Omg!! I've been waiting for an update and this is such big news :) I feel like I haven't talked to you in forever! So excited that he may be home. The boys were a little disappointed the other day when your kiddos ended up not coming over. I hope you're all doing great :)

i can't believe that i just went through my summer and missed all of this at once! i was NOT one of those up worrying for you during that time of uncertainty and that makes me sad. i was so shocked to scroll through your posts to get to the oldest one and see how early you delivered and amazed as i read how it all went down. i love the lord's small miracles (you having contractions) that end up making such big miracles. congratulations! and good luck over the next few days getting home, adjusted, and keeping him well. thank goodness its not rsv season... yet. thank you and blu for sharing your inner thoughts with all of us.
